UPDATE · 21 OCTOBER 2026
Mealime’s closing notice and its App Store release notes gave 21 October 2026 as the date the app would be discontinued. During the farewell period Pro was free for everyone, and Mealime said subscriptions would not renew. Recipes continue in free Meals Hub inside Albertsons Companies’ store apps. Mealime said personal data would be deleted at shutdown and that some preferences must be set up again in Meals Hub. The notice did not offer a full account transfer.

What happened
Mealime said the transition followed Albertsons’ 2021 acquisition and brought its planning experience into Meals Hub, supported by the same core team.

Cook from your saved copies, Meals Hub or another planner.
Begin with five familiar dinners rather than trying to rebuild every recipe you ever saved. One week cooked in the new app tells you more than a large collection moved in a hurry.
Separate the recipes from your personal account.
Mealime promised all of its recipes, including former Pro recipes, in Meals Hub. It said all personal data would be deleted at shutdown, and that some preferences and settings need recreating in Meals Hub.
A recipe existing in another catalogue does not preserve your note to double the sauce, the meals you marked as favourites, or the order of your weekly dinners. The notice did not document a complete account transfer or establish the future of every public recipe URL, so do not count on plans, lists, favourites or notes that lived only in your Mealime account.
What still works after the closing date
- The copies you already saved. Open each backup, PDF, screenshot or document and check the title, servings, ingredient amounts and every step. Our after-shutdown guide walks through checking them before you cook.
- Recipe links you kept. If you still have a recipe’s public link in a note, email or message, paste it into our free browser backup tool, review the preview, then download a readable copy. No MealPot account or subscription is needed for this website tool.
- The dishes themselves. Lost the link? Search the 1,676 Mealime dinners rebuilt here by name, with quantities for 2, 4 and 6 servings.
- Your shopping routine. How Mealime’s grocery list combined ingredients is worth keeping as a habit in your next app. To keep a recipe on paper, print a checked backup through your device.
- Your groceries. Delivery and pickup are the retailer’s service, not the planner’s. Our grocery delivery guide covers taking an ingredient list to another store or service.
The backup tool cannot sign in to Mealime, fetch a private favourites list or move account settings. If an original page cannot be accessed, the tool cannot recreate it. Its download is a personal backup, not a MealPot account-import file.

Keep using the official catalogue: free Meals Hub
In an Albertsons Companies store app, tap More at the bottom right, then Meals Hub. Sign in or create the store account and set dietary preferences in its profile. Mealime said recipes, plans and lists remain usable without shopping at a nearby Albertsons store.
For the browser route, open the official Meals Hub web entry and select a store. This is the destination linked by Mealime. The separate Get Meals Hub link provides the store-app route.
If your priority is finding the same recipes without another subscription, start here. Store selection and grocery checkout are separate from deciding which recipes to cook. Our Meals Hub review covers what it does well and where it falls short.
Build your own collection: MealPot for iPhone and iPad
Recipe import requires MealPot Pro, a paid subscription. In MealPot, open Recipes → + → Import Recipe, paste one Mealime recipe link and tap Import. Review the recipe, then choose Save to My Recipes. Our illustrated import walkthrough shows the copy, review and save screens.
MealPot is free to download for iPhone and iPad; the price and billing period for Pro appear before purchase. Import brings over an individual recipe, not your Mealime account, saved plan or personal notes. Compare the servings, ingredient quantities and instructions before saving, particularly where amounts or nutrition are estimated. Compare MealPot with Mealime to see what is similar and what is different.

Common questions
Will I get a refund for Mealime Pro?
Mealime promised no further charges but did not mention refunds. A refund for months already paid is a request to whoever billed you: Apple, Google Play or Mealime’s own web billing. The refund guide has each route, and our pricing guide records what Pro used to cost.
Why did Mealime shut down?
Its owner, Albertsons Companies, moved the recipes and team into Meals Hub, a planner inside its own grocery apps. The decision was the owner’s. Read the background.
Can I still export my Mealime recipes?
Mealime never had an export. If you kept a recipe’s public link, paste it into our free backup tool for a readable copy, or find the dish among the 1,676 Mealime dinners rebuilt here.
What happened to my meal plans, grocery list and notes?
Mealime said personal data would be deleted at shutdown and did not document a transfer. Use any screenshots or copies you made, and rebuild the list in your next app; our grocery list guide explains how Mealime’s list worked.
Does Meals Hub work outside the United States?
It lives inside US store apps and websites from Albertsons Companies. Mealime said it works without a nearby store, but shopping features are US-only and app availability depends on your country. See the guide for Canada, the UK and Australia.
Is there a free Mealime alternative?
Meals Hub is free and has the same recipes. MealPot is free to download on iPhone with the full recipe library; its weekly plan generator and recipe import are part of Pro. Compare the best meal planning apps or the Mealime alternatives.
Where do I check a subscription or unexpected charge?
Use the billing provider shown on your receipt. Our subscription guide has Apple, Google Play and web routes. Keep the receipt if you need help with an unexpected charge.
Does the Mealime app still open?
The closing notice gave the discontinuation date; it did not describe what an installed copy does afterwards. Whatever your app shows, start from the copies you saved. Our after-shutdown guide covers what to check, and the troubleshooting guide covers specific errors.
Can MealPot transfer my whole Mealime account?
No. The website backup tool does not sign in to Mealime or transfer your account, favourites, settings or existing weekly plan. MealPot Pro imports one recipe link at a time; see the import steps.
Is Mealime still in business?
No. Mealime gave 21 October 2026 as its discontinuation date. Its recipes continue in Meals Hub, run by Albertsons Companies and supported by the same core team.
