No new charges. Mealime’s closing notice says Pro subscribers “will not be charged any additional subscription fees”, and its App Store notes say Pro is now free for everyone.
Refunds are not promised. The notice is silent on money already paid. A refund for an annual plan bought before the announcement is a request to your billing provider, not to Mealime.
Who charged you decides who refunds you
Mealime Pro was sold three ways, and the receipt tells you which one you have. Apple handles App Store subscriptions, Google handles Play subscriptions, and Mealime handled payments made on its website. Only the party that took the payment can return it.
Open your email receipt or your phone’s subscription list first. If the charge line says Apple or Google, Mealime support cannot refund it even if it wanted to.
App Store subscriptions
Sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, find the Mealime Pro charge and choose Request a refund. Apple asks for a reason; “the service is being discontinued” is an honest one. Apple decides case by case and usually replies within a day or two.
Cancelling the subscription yourself is separate. Mealime says it will not renew, but cancelling in Settings → your name → Subscriptions costs nothing and removes any doubt.
Google Play subscriptions
Play refunds within 48 hours of a charge are automatic from your order history. Older charges go through Play’s refund request form, where you can explain that the app is closing. Google may refer you to the developer for charges older than a few months.
Check Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions to confirm Mealime shows as cancelled or not renewing.

If you subscribed on the website, Mealime itself is the billing provider. Email [email protected] with your account email, the charge date and the amount, and ask whether a pro-rata refund is offered for the unused months. Keep the reply; support addresses may stop answering after 21 October.
Is a refund worth chasing?
Pro cost $2.99 a month or about $30 a year before the announcement, so most refunds would be a few dollars for the months after 21 October. An annual plan renewed in the summer is the case worth ten minutes on the refund form.
Whatever you decide, do the saving work first. A refund does not bring back your favourites, and the shutdown guide covers what to copy out before the date.
