Is Mealime down or already closed?

Mealime’s announced closure date is 21 October 2026. Its official notice also says the recipe catalogue will continue through Meals Hub. A failure before that date does not establish that the app has closed early. This guide is not a live outage monitor.

If a recipe or grocery list is still visible, save the information you need for your next meal before signing out, clearing app data or reinstalling. Keep a working session on another device available while you investigate.

Choose the symptom you can actually see

Note the exact error and whether it appears inside Mealime, in your browser or on a retailer’s website. Work across one row at a time.

If the app crashes, freezes or will not load

For iPhone or iPad, close and reopen Mealime, restart the device, then check the App Store for an update. If no app update is available, check for a device software update. These are Apple’s troubleshooting steps; its guidance also warns that deleting an app can lose stored data.

On Android, restart the phone and check for app and Android updates. If Mealime remains unresponsive, use its App info screen to force stop it and reopen it; menu labels vary by device. Google’s app troubleshooting guide explains the steps and warns that uninstalling erases saved app data. Save what you can before considering that step.

For a loading spinner, test the connection separately: if ordinary websites also fail, try another available connection and repeat one request. If other websites load but Mealime does not, that narrows the report; it does not identify a specific server fault. Google’s connection guide covers switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If the same failure persists after these checks, send the details below instead of repeatedly reinstalling.

Mealime login problems and empty favourites

Open the official Mealime login page. It asks for your email and password and provides an “I don’t have my password” link. You can also reach sign-in from Mealime’s home page.

  1. Check which email you used for Mealime. A working device or an older Mealime message can help identify it.
  2. If you forgot or never set a password, open Mealime’s password-reset page, enter that email and request instructions.
  3. Follow the email’s reset link, set a password, then return to official sign-in. The mobile route is Sign In → “I don’t have my password”. These routes are documented in Mealime’s password help, last updated 29 July 2019.

If the email does not arrive, check the address for a typo and inspect spam or filtered folders. If you no longer control that mailbox, tell Mealime support. A reset request alone does not recover access to the email account.

If login succeeds but favourites are empty, compare the signed-in email with the original account before creating another account. If the address matches, report which favourites or plans are missing and when you last saw them. A blank screen alone cannot show whether a collection was deleted or failed to load. The login guide covers account recovery in more detail.

Mealime share button not working

Open the individual recipe and use its more menu → Share → Copy. The illustrated import guide shows those controls. Copying a recipe is separate from sharing a grocery list or a meal plan.

  • No share sheet appears: try a second recipe. If both fail, reopen the app and follow the app checks above; report whether the failure affects every recipe.
  • The sheet opens but a destination app fails: choose Copy and paste into a note. If the address appears, open it in a browser before trying the destination again.
  • The copied link will not open: remove accidental punctuation or spaces around the address. Try another known recipe link and record whether one or both fail.
  • The link opens the wrong dish or amounts: return to the intended recipe, copy again and compare its title, servings and ingredients before saving.

For short and full recipe addresses, use the share-link guide. If the recipe opens publicly, you can save an accessible copy even while a separate account action is failing. If neither the app nor the public page is accessible, use recipe text or files you already have; a remembered title cannot recover private favourites.

Mealime HEB access denied and grocery errors

First read the destination address. An error on heb.com needs a different investigation from an error still inside Mealime. Open H-E-B directly and check whether its normal site or app works for you.

If H-E-B itself fails, choose Technical help on H-E-B’s contact page; that category covers login and website issues. Choose Curbside or delivery for order or payment problems. If H-E-B works directly but the Mealime shopping link fails, send Mealime the starting action, destination address and exact message. This comparison helps locate the failure without claiming a particular cause for “access denied”.

For tonight’s shop, keep a readable ingredient list and add products manually if the retailer works directly. Review quantities and any existing cart before continuing. If an error happened during payment, check the retailer’s order history or confirmation before placing the order again.

When the MealPot website backup fails

The free recipe backup tool handles supported public links or recipe content you supply. It cannot sign in to Mealime or repair that account.

  1. Start with one recipe. Open it in a browser. If it loads, paste the final recipe address into the backup tool, without surrounding message text.
  2. Read the warning. A fetch error, unreadable PDF and missing ingredient amount are different outcomes. For a PDF that has no extractable text, use a working recipe URL or paste readable recipe text.
  3. Check completeness before downloading. Compare portions, ingredient amounts and cooking steps with the source. If information is missing, paste the corrected full recipe into the text tab and preview again. Items missing a title, ingredients or cooking steps are excluded from the download.
  4. Open the saved file. Confirm the intended recipe is present. TXT and JSON are browser backups; neither is an automatic private-account transfer or an app import format.

When to ask the developer for help

For Mealime login, account, recipe or app problems, use Mealime’s official help centre or email [email protected], the contact listed in its password help. For a retailer error, use that retailer’s support. For an error in this website’s backup tool, use MealPot support.

A useful report includes:

  • Your device model, operating-system version and Mealime app version, or browser name.
  • The action immediately before the failure, the exact message, and its date, time and time zone.
  • Whether another recipe, browser, device or connection worked, and the checks already tried.
  • For Mealime account support, the account email and whether a recovery email arrived. For a recipe error, its public link.

Share screenshots with private details hidden. Do not send a password or password-reset link. While waiting, keep a copy of any recipe and shopping list you can still access. The switch checklist helps organise those saved recipes and preferences.

Frequently asked questions

Does “Mealime not working” mean it has shut down early?

No. Mealime announced 21 October 2026 as its closure date. An isolated error before then is not enough to establish an early closure or a service-wide outage.

Should I delete Mealime to fix a crash?

Start with reopening, restarting and checking updates. Apple and Google warn that deleting or uninstalling an app can lose stored data. Save accessible information and keep a working session before considering that step.

What if a recipe opens in my browser but the backup tool rejects it?

Copy the final public recipe address and try one link at a time. Read the specific warning. If it still fails, use readable recipe text and send the public URL and error to MealPot support.

Can MealPot restore my missing Mealime favourites?

No. The backup tool can read supported public recipe links or content you provide. Missing private favourites need Mealime account support.

Keep the recipe you can open.
