What is r.mealime.com?
It is the short address shown in Mealime’s recipe sharing sheet. The number identifies the public recipe version. Our browser backup accepts both this short form and full Mealime recipe addresses.
On 12 September 2026, this short link redirected to the full address below. Both opened Garlic-Parmesan Chicken Tenders with Green Beans & Honey Mustard Dip:

https://www.mealime.com/recipes/garlic-parmesan-chicken-tenders-green-beans-honey-mustard-dip/23773Keep the final 23773 when copying. A recipe name alone, the Mealime homepage or your private favourites screen is not a public recipe link. There is no need to shorten or rewrite a working address.
How to share a Mealime recipe link
Check servings as well as the title
Two working links can have the same title and different portions. We checked both public versions below on 12 September 2026. The short link above opens the two-serving version; the other address is a four-serving version.
| Field | Version 23773 | Version 23762 |
|---|---|---|
| Servings | 2 | 4 |
| Total time | 25 minutes | 30 minutes |
| Chicken | 0.34 kg | 1½ lb |
| Honey mustard dressing | ¼ cup | ½ cup |
| Parmesan | ⅓ cup | ⅔ cup |
The two-serving page also names version 23762 as its preferred address for search engines. That is not the address the short link opens. The backup keeps the actual resolved recipe URL so the saved source stays with the version it read. Use the link you copied and compare the portions; do not substitute another result just because its title matches.
Follow the recipe from source to saved file
Why this example has an amount warning: its public recipe data lists olive oil, garlic powder, mayonnaise, panko bread crumbs, paprika and salt without numeric amounts. The backup preserves those six entries and flags them. A successful preview means the title, ingredients and steps were found; it does not mean every quantity was supplied. Recover missing details from the original recipe where available. If you have the complete text, use the backup’s Paste text tab and preview that corrected version.
| Check | Readable TXT | JSON |
|---|---|---|
| Identity and portions | Title, resolved source URL and servings | Title, source URL, recipe ID and servings |
| Ingredients and method | Ingredient lines and numbered steps | Original ingredient lines plus separate amount, unit and item fields; steps |
| Missing amounts | Review notes remain in the file | Missing quantities remain empty; warnings remain |
| Time and photo | No separate timing field or offline photo | Timing fields and an image link when found; no packaged offline photo |
Will the short link work after the shutdown?
Mealime announces its discontinuation for 21 October 2026 and says its recipe catalogue will continue in Meals Hub. Its notice does not give an expiry date for every public recipe or short link. A working link today is therefore neither a promise of permanent access nor evidence that it will disappear on that exact date. Read Mealime’s announcement.
Save the recipe content as well as its address. An opened, checked TXT file gives you a readable copy that does not depend on the redirect continuing to work. Keep your own recipe notes separately if they are not on the public page.
If a share link does not import
| What happens | What to do next |
|---|---|
| The pasted text includes a message or trailing punctuation | Keep only the full address. Remove surrounding spaces and punctuation, then try one link. |
| The short link fails, but the recipe is open in your browser | Copy the full address from that recipe tab. Check its ending number and servings before previewing. |
| The link opens a homepage, login or private list | Return to the individual dish and use Share → Copy. The backup cannot sign into your Mealime account. |
| The browser opens the recipe but the preview reports a fetch error | Try the full recipe URL. If it still fails, paste complete recipe text you can access into Paste text. |
| The preview has the wrong servings or units | Compare the source version before saving. Copy the intended version again; a matching name is insufficient. |
| The preview warns about missing amounts | Compare the ingredient lines with the original. Do not treat an omitted quantity as zero or fill it with a guess. |
| The recipe is excluded from download | A title, ingredients or steps are missing. Supply the complete recipe through Paste text and preview again. |
| Neither the app nor the public recipe is accessible | Use a readable file or recipe text you already saved. A link alone cannot recover inaccessible private content. |
For errors earlier in the process, use the Mealime troubleshooting guide to separate sign-in, sharing and website problems.
Using the link in MealPot
To save an individual recipe in MealPot, use Recipes → + → Import Recipe, paste the original link, then review and choose Save to My Recipes. Recipe import requires MealPot Pro. The import walkthrough shows the review controls.
The free website backup creates TXT or JSON files to keep; those files are not a MealPot app import format. Neither route transfers your entire Mealime account, favourites or plans. Use the switch checklist for the rest of your weekly routine.
Frequently asked questions
Should I paste the short link or the full URL?
Either supported public recipe form works in the browser backup. Keep the complete address and use the preview’s source link to confirm the recipe version.
Why does the same recipe name show two or four servings?
Mealime can publish different serving and unit versions under different numeric IDs. The checked chicken tenders pages 23773 and 23762 have the same title but different portions, quantities and total times.
Does tapping Copy save a recipe offline?
No. It copies an address. To keep the content offline, preview the recipe, download the readable TXT file and open it to check the ingredients and steps.
Can one share link back up all my favourites?
No. A public recipe link represents one recipe version. It does not grant access to your private favourites, notes or meal plan.
