  • 1 lbchicken wings, split with tips removed
  • 90 mlhoney mustard dressing
  • ½ bunchradish
  • ½ (14 oz) bagshredded cabbage (coleslaw mix)
  • avocados

baking sheet pan · chef's knife · colander · cutting board · measuring cups · measuring spoons · mixing bowls · oven mitts · tongs · whisk or fork

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 500°F and oil a baking sheet lightly.
  2. Pat the wings dry, place them in a bowl, and toss with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. Spread the pieces in a single layer on the pan.
  3. Roast the wings in the oven, turning once, until cooked through, about 20–25 minutes.
  4. While the wings cook, wash and thinly slice the radishes after drying them well, then place them in a clean bowl.
  5. Prepare the slaw by halving and pitting the avocado, scooping the flesh into a small dice, and mixing with the radishes and shredded cabbage. Stir in half of the honey mustard dressing and set the rest aside for the sauce.
  6. Add hot sauce to the remaining dressing in a separate bowl and whisk until smooth to create a spicy sauce.
  7. When the wings are done, transfer them to the bowl with the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Serve the wings with the slaw on the side or tossed together, dividing between plates as desired.

Two tips

  • Make-ahead: keep the dressing and slaw components in the fridge for up to 1 day before serving.
  • Serving idea: offer additional hot sauce or a drizzle of the remaining dressing to taste.
