Tap Add ingredients to My List on a recipe to build a digital shopping list to use in the store. Albertsons says its shoppable recipes are matched to supermarket pack sizes to cut waste; it is still worth checking the fridge before you go.

The cart: pickup and delivery

Add recipe ingredients to the cart, alongside any other groceries; both can go in one cart. While building the cart or at checkout, review the items and remove what you already have. Choose delivery or pickup at checkout if your store offers it. Prices, deals and coupons are the store’s own.

If you shop at Walmart, Aldi, Kroger or Costco

Meals Hub’s cart orders only from the Albertsons Companies store you selected, and there is no documented way to send it to another retailer. You can still use Meals Hub to plan and copy its list by hand.

Getting a better list

• Pick the whole week first, then check the list for ingredients several recipes share, such as onions or garlic, before you order.
• If you cook for 3 or 5, remember servings are 2, 4 or 6, so you round up and may over-buy.
