KEEP THE EXISTING WEEK

Before replacing a plan, record its meal names, recipe links, planned servings and your changes. Save its shopping status separately. Mealime’s older documentation describes access to the two most recent plans; it does not establish an unlimited history archive.

Find the plan you can still access.

Start with the plan visible in your current Mealime session. Record it before making a new one. If account access is the problem, use the login guide; the PC guide covers the official browser route and local copies.

Mealime’s Pro overview, updated 29 December 2023, describes viewing the two most recent meal plans. Its linked previous-plan walkthrough returned a missing-page response when checked, so it cannot establish a current button sequence. If a previous-plan view is available in your installed app, capture that plan too. Do not rely on making several new plans and then being able to retrieve an older one.

Mealime closes on 21 October 2026. Pro is now free and existing subscriptions will not renew, according to version 4.21.35’s release notes. The old help page’s paid-feature language is historical. Mealime’s closure notice says its recipes continue in free Meals Hub, but that does not establish transfer of your private weekly plans.

Recover the recipe identities and personal notes.

Open each available meal and record its full title and recipe link. Mealime’s sharing guide, dated 29 July 2019, describes opening a recipe and using More, then the share action. Save a readable copy with the browser backup tool and compare its quantities and steps with the recipe you use.

If the whole plan is no longer available, Favorites and previously shared links can help you reconstruct its meals. The Favorites guide, updated 12 October 2020, says saved recipes can be reused in new plans. It also explains that the builder’s Your Favorites filter shows only recipes matching current eating preferences. A missing filtered result is therefore not enough to conclude the recipe has been deleted.

Copy personal notes separately, under the relevant recipe title. Mealime’s notes instructions, dated 29 July 2019, document notes attached to individual recipes. A public recipe link does not carry those private notes into the website backup. Keep details such as a preferred substitution, extra preparation or which part your household likes served separately.

Compare the recipes with one another too. Two meals may share a useful ingredient, but three dishes that each require a different opened sauce can leave several remainders. Check pack sizes and second uses while changing the plan is still easy.

Save shopping status before editing or replacing a plan.

Mealime’s editing instructions, dated 29 July 2019, describe More → Edit this plan, followed by a confirmation before modifying the selection. Generated grocery entries are replaced, custom additions transfer and completed items may need checking off again. Capture your current list first if it records purchases you still need to remember.

This matters most after shopping has started. Suppose you remove a pepper dish but another dinner still needs one pepper. The updated list needs to account for that remaining meal and what you have already purchased. Inspect the result rather than crossing out every ingredient associated with the removed dish.

If you have bought all the ingredients, an easier change may be moving when you cook a meal rather than replacing it. Check storage instructions and dates before postponing food. A plan is a decision aid; keeping its calendar tidy is not more important than managing what is already in the kitchen.

Record a week you can actually reuse.

Create one note for the week, then one row per cooking event. Use your own day labels even if the app only shows a collection of meals. Keep the plan record alongside the recipe files: the record explains when and how much to cook; the recipe files explain the cooking.

RecordIllustrative entryCheck before reusing
Week and order“Busy week A”: quick dinner, batch cook, leftovers.Does this week have the same late evenings?
Exact meal identityFull recipe title, original URL and saved TXT filename.Does the file open and match the intended dish?
Amount to cookTuesday: cook four portions for two people. Are four portions still wanted, and does the recipe/list use that amount?
Leftover destinationWednesday: eat the two portions saved from Tuesday. Is this one cooking event, rather than a second full batch?
Personal noteKeep the sauce separate; allow extra chopping time.Is the note in the saved copy as well as in Mealime?
Shopping statusRice bought; vegetables still needed; milk added separately. What is already at home now? Recheck this when repeating the week.
What really happenedThursday dinner skipped; used a fallback instead.Should that dinner return next week or leave the rotation?

Use this sample record to keep cooking days and leftover meals distinct. For the Tuesday–Wednesday example, preserve one four-portion cook and one leftover event. When rebuilding elsewhere, use that planner’s documented leftover or note feature so the shop does not accidentally include a second batch.

A saved recipe file does not contain your full plan history, favourite status or account preferences. Our backup tool creates TXT/JSON copies of accessible recipe content. A screenshot can preserve the visible order, while your written record supplies quantities, notes and shopping status that may be off-screen.

Rebuild the recorded week in the next planner.

To keep Mealime’s recipes, start with free Meals Hub. Mealime says its full catalogue continues in Albertsons Companies apps and websites, with plans and shopping lists usable without a nearby store. Establish preferences in the new account and use your week record to find the dinners you want again. Catalogue continuity does not promise that the old plan order, notes or purchased-item state will transfer. Official transition guidance.

For MealPot, import is a separate recipe-by-recipe step. MealPot is our product and supports iPhone and iPad on iOS/iPadOS 17 or later. Recipe import requires Pro: follow Recipes → + → Import Recipe, review the original URL’s result and save it to My Recipes. Keep your week record for rebuilding the routine; importing a dish does not restore a Mealime account or its old plan. MealPot’s App Store listing.

Our practical weekly planning guide focuses on the evenings you have rather than app controls. If a full week feels demanding, try the small three-dinner routine. You can compare other planning approaches through the alternatives guide.

Common questions

Can I retrieve every old Mealime plan?

The 2023 Pro overview documents the two most recent plans, not an unlimited archive. Its previous-plan walkthrough is currently unavailable, so no current navigation sequence or recovery of older history is established here.

Can I change a Mealime plan after building it?

Its editing guide describes adding and removing recipes from an existing plan. Save shopping status first, then review the regenerated grocery list and any completed items afterwards.

Will a recipe backup preserve my entire meal-plan history?

No. The website backup tool preserves accessible recipe content. Record meal order, servings, leftover plans, private notes and shopping status separately.

Why is a favourite missing when I rebuild a plan?

Mealime’s Favorites guide says the builder filters saved favourites against current eating preferences. Check the separate Favorites area and your recorded link before assuming the recipe is gone.

Keep the shop in step with the plan.

Check the grocery-list workflow after making a change.
