AT A GLANCE

Mealime’s official listing identifies Mealime Meal Plans Inc as the developer. Check that listing for your device, and read the closure guide before starting a new collection.

Find the official iPhone and iPad listing.

The official US Mealime App Store listing, checked on 12 September 2026, identifies Mealime Meal Plans Inc as the developer and supports iPhone on iOS 15.6+ and iPad on iPadOS 15.6+. It is designed for iPad, so tablet support is established by the listing itself.

Version 4.21.35 says Pro is free for everyone and existing Pro subscriptions will not renew. Older subscription text remains in the description, so use the current release notes and closure notice for the wind-down terms. Mealime will be discontinued on 21 October 2026.

A visible store page, eligibility to download on your Apple Account and a working online service are separate things. The announcement does not specify the final date for public downloads or guarantee service after shutdown. Check your country’s store on the actual device; keep useful copies while your current session works.

Update, install or recover access?

For an offered update, Apple’s current route is App Store → account photo → App Updates → Update beside the app. If installation fails, follow Apple’s download troubleshooting for the exact store error. If the app opens but Mealime login fails, use the account-recovery guide. A successful download does not recover an account or establish that it is the account containing your favourites.

Keep a favourite before changing the installation.

Mealime’s iOS sharing help, updated 29 July 2019, gives this route: open a recipe from Meal Plan, Favorites or the builder preview → More → the share icon in the action sheet. Copy the recipe link when offered and keep it with the title. The recipe share control is the relevant action; sharing a link to the Mealime app itself does not preserve a dish.

Do this while you have a working session. Before reinstalling or replacing a phone, retain personal notes and the current list too. The closure notice says personal data will be deleted at shutdown. A downloaded recipe copy serves a different purpose from a device backup or a saved web link. Use the switch checklist to keep those records together.

Recipe backup downloaded in SafariOpen Safari Downloads or Files and inspect the TXT copy.Ingredients, quantities and the full method are present.

Verify a browser backup on your iPhone.

  1. Open the free MealPot recipe backup in Safari and paste the accessible recipe link.
  2. Inspect the preview, then download TXT for a readable copy. JSON is also available as structured data; neither is an automatic MealPot app import.
  3. In Safari, use the Downloads button beside the search field and open Downloads. Alternatively, open Files → Browse → iCloud Drive → Downloads, as described in Apple’s iPhone/iPad download guide.
  4. Open the saved file and check the ingredients, quantities, servings and last instruction. Keep your personal notes beside it.

Give the file a name you will recognise next week. If the preview is incomplete, return to the original and use a supported input such as pasted recipe text. The tool needs no account, but cannot recover private account history. A working web link is useful for finding the original; the downloaded text is the copy you can inspect independently.

Check an Apple subscription independently.

For a Mealime purchase billed by Apple, open Settings, tap your name and inspect Subscriptions. The purchasing Apple Account matters, even if your Mealime email is different. Use our full cancellation guide and Apple’s official instructions if you need to stop or verify a renewal.

Keep the receipt and status for your records. A new phone, a deleted app or a fresh Mealime login is not a replacement for checking the subscription. If another provider appears on the receipt, use that provider’s route instead of assuming every iPhone user paid through Apple.

Check the features you depend on.

Mealime’s iPad listing establishes device support; the practical question is whether the recipe, plan and list work for the way you cook on that device. If another household member uses Android, compare the account and shared-list workflow as well as the individual screens. Device support alone does not establish shared purchases or equal features.

For Apple Health, the official guide updated 3 December 2020 describes opening a recipe’s nutrition facts after cooking, choosing the servings consumed and selecting Add to Health App. This is an explicit logging step. The current store description also mentions Health integration, but importing a recipe into another planner does not transfer your Health history. See the nutrition guide for the distinction.

Try one week in the next iPhone planner.

For continued access to Mealime’s catalogue, start with free Meals Hub through an Albertsons Companies store app or website. The official route inside the store app is More → Meals Hub. Recipes, plans and lists can be used without a nearby store; check the particular store app’s own device requirements rather than applying Mealime’s iOS minimum to it.

For collecting selected recipes, the MealPot listing supports iPhone and iPad on iOS/iPadOS 17+. That is a higher minimum than Mealime’s current 15.6 requirement. If your device cannot run 17, the browser backup still offers a separate route to keep a readable copy; it does not require installing MealPot.

Individual recipe URL import in the app requires MealPot Pro: Recipes → + → Import Recipe → review → save to My Recipes. Follow the import guide and compare the result with the original. The free backup file does not automatically import, and this process does not transfer an entire Mealime account. The alternatives guide covers other planning choices.

Common questions

Does Mealime support iPad?

Yes. The US listing checked on 12 September 2026 is designed for iPad and requires iPadOS 15.6 or later. iPhone requires iOS 15.6 or later.

Will keeping Mealime installed preserve the online service?

An installed app is not a guarantee that its online features continue. The announced shutdown is 21 October 2026; no final public-download date is established here.

Can I back up a Mealime recipe in Safari?

Use the website backup with an accessible recipe input, inspect the preview and verify the downloaded file in Safari Downloads or Files. Keep personal notes separately.

Can the same older iPad run MealPot?

MealPot requires iPadOS 17 or later, whereas the current Mealime listing requires 15.6. Check the operating system your iPad can run; the two apps have different minimums.

Does the free website backup add recipes to the MealPot app?

No. App import is a separate individual recipe URL workflow and is a MealPot Pro feature.
