Ingredients
- 1 (6 oz) pkgblackberries
- 2 sliceswhole grain bread
From the pantry: cinnamon, ground, honey, natural peanut butter
Cookware
baking sheet pan · colander · measuring cups · measuring spoons · oven mitts · toaster (optional) · tongs
Directions
- If you’re using the oven, turn on the broiler to high and place the rack near the top; skip this step if you’re using a toaster for the bread.
- Set the two bread slices on a baking sheet and slide them under the broiler, turning once, until they’re lightly toasted in about 2 minutes; remove from the heat.
- Meanwhile, rinse the blackberries and pat them dry.
- Spread about 2 tablespoons of peanut butter over each slice of toast.
- Top each slice with the blackberries, drizzle with honey, and sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon over the fruit.
- Place the finished slices on plates one by one for serving.
- Serve and enjoy.
- If you have leftovers, keep them refrigerated for a quick topping on oats or yogurt later.
Two tips
- Prep the berries and toast concurrently to save time.
- Swap idea: if you don’t want extra sweetness, skip the honey and use a little more peanut butter for a different balance.
