AT A GLANCE

Older Pro documentation explains what you may have used. The current wind-down notice opens those features to all users.

Start with what Pro changed in your week.

Mealime Pro is now free for everyone. The version 4.21.35 release notes, checked on 12 September 2026, also say existing Pro subscriptions will not renew. Mealime closes on 21 October 2026. Older upgrade screens and articles describe the former paid tier; use the pricing guide for that history and billing context.

A subscription name can hide several different habits. Perhaps you paid because a favourite dinner was in the expanded collection, relied on notes or revisited last week’s plan. Identify what you actually used: a recipe, your changes to it, a menu or a nutrition filter. Each needs a different kind of copy.

The official closure notice says personal data will be deleted when the app shuts down. Preserve your own notes and useful plan details while they are accessible. Catalogue recipes continuing elsewhere does not establish that your private collection will transfer with them.

What the older Pro documentation includes.

The official Pro article, updated 29 December 2023, lists detailed nutrition, calorie filters, recipe notes, the two most recent meal plans, full recipe access and priority email support. This describes the former tier. The current announcement opens Pro features to all users; it does not turn priority support into a guaranteed response deadline.

The routes above come from Mealime’s nutrition, notes and calorie-filter guides, all updated 29 July 2019, and its 3 December 2020 getting-started guide. They are useful navigation references; labels may differ in the final app version.

Preserve the notes that make a recipe yours.

Open a few dishes you have cooked more than once and check their notes. The documented creation route is to open a recipe from Meal Plan, choose More → Add Note, enter text and save with Done. Use the recipe’s note controls in your installed version to review existing text before copying it.

Look for ingredient substitutions, the pan you prefer, a portion change or a reminder that your household likes less chilli. Copy these separately and label them as your own notes. For example, save “we use a larger pan for four servings” next to the recipe title and source link. Keeping the original recipe and your changes distinguishable makes it easier to check a new import and explain the dish to someone else.

Keep previous plans as a reusable menu.

The Pro overview specifies the two most recent meal plans, not an unlimited history archive. Its linked previous-plan walkthrough currently returns a missing-page response, so an exact current button path cannot be established from that documentation. If your installed app exposes previous plans, record those that remain available before replacing your current plan.

A previous plan is useful even without automatic history transfer. Record titles in order, recipe links, planned servings and intentional leftovers. Add what you actually cooked. For example, keep a short menu of two familiar dinners, one meal using an ingredient already opened and a flexible night. That is enough to rebuild a successful week without preserving the old interface. The meal-planning guide explains how to rebuild the list.

Check nutrition needs separately.

Mealime’s nutrition guide covers calories, macronutrients and micronutrients. On iOS/Android, open a recipe from Meal Plan or Favorites, then More → Nutrition facts. On the web, open a recipe and choose Nutrition Facts below its image, then More nutrition facts for detail. Keep the serving basis beside any numbers you copy.

Filters are separate from recorded intake. The calorie-filter guide narrows recipe search to a selected range. The 2020 getting-started guide also documents Settings → Advanced Filters for calorie, macro-percentage and sodium rules. For Apple Health, it describes opening nutrition facts after cooking, selecting servings consumed and choosing Add to Health App. That is an explicit logging action, not automatic proof that a planned meal was eaten.

In a replacement, check both the displayed values and any tracking connection you rely on. An imported recipe does not establish transfer of your filter rules or Health history. The nutrition and weight-loss guide covers the distinction between organising meals and expecting a health outcome.

Try one complete replacement workflow.

If access to the Mealime catalogue is your priority, start with free Meals Hub. The official notice says it includes recipes previously in Pro and works through Albertsons Companies websites/apps even without a nearby store. In a store app, the documented route is More → Meals Hub. Some preferences must be set up there again; preserve your notes and menus separately.

If collecting selected recipes matters more, choose one favourite with a personal note. Save a readable copy, add the recipe through the next app’s supported route and compare servings, quantities, steps and your note. MealPot’s free browser backup downloads TXT/JSON without an account. App import is a separate MealPot Pro feature: Recipes → + → Import Recipe → review → save to My Recipes. See how the two routes differ. It does not transfer a Mealime subscription or complete account. For old payments, use the cancellation guide.

Common questions

Do I need to buy Mealime Pro now?

No. Version 4.21.35 says Pro is free for everyone and existing subscriptions will not renew. The older upgrade article describes the former paid tier.

Where do I find nutrition facts?

The documented mobile route is to open a recipe, then More → Nutrition facts. On the web, Nutrition Facts appears beneath the recipe image. These routes come from July 2019 help and labels may vary.

Does Pro keep every past meal plan?

The official overview describes the two most recent plans. It does not establish an unlimited archive. Copy the useful plans you can still access.

Will copying a public recipe keep my personal notes?

Do not assume it will. Record account-specific notes separately and check them in your new copy.

Does a MealPot backup import a whole Pro account?

No. It makes a recipe backup. It does not transfer a Mealime account, subscription, favourites collection or plan history. Importing individual recipes into the MealPot app requires MealPot Pro.

Keep the useful parts of your routine.

Save a recipe, check your copy and organise the next week.
