ACCESS IS NOT DELIVERY COVERAGE
Mealime has public iPhone listings in the US, Canada and UK. Those listings do not establish that a linked grocer serves your address. You can still use a readable recipe and shopping list at your own supermarket.
Mealime closes on 21 October 2026. Pro is now free and existing subscriptions will not renew, according to version 4.21.35’s release notes. Its catalogue continues in free Meals Hub through Albertsons Companies apps and websites. That transition is relevant in every region; older subscription prices and launch-country guidance do not describe the current situation. Official transition notice.
A website and an app store answer different questions.
The official Apple storefront pages for the United States, Canada and United Kingdom were present when checked on 12 September 2026. They list English and require iOS/iPadOS 15.6 or later for iPhone/iPad. Open the listing in your own account to confirm the installation option for your device.
Mealime’s country help article, updated 21 February 2018, describes a limited initial mobile launch and a worldwide web application. It is historical guidance, not a current country-by-country installation list. A public storefront page also does not establish Android availability: check Mealime’s official Google Play listing on the device and account you intend to use.
If an existing account is your priority, use Mealime’s official browser login to check what you can still access. A public recipe page can be saved separately from the private plan or favourites in that account. Our computer guide explains those routes.
Compare access and shopping by region.
Check four things independently: installation, language, recipe measurements and fulfilment. A planner may fit your cooking routine even if it cannot send an order to your preferred shop.
| Region | Verified app and language | Measurement decision | Grocery decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | US iOS listing; English. | Keep the units on the recipe, or choose Metric in eating preferences for a new plan. | For the official Meals Hub route, retailer delivery remains location-dependent. Safeway’s online-shopping FAQ directs shoppers to check service by ZIP code. |
| Canada | Canadian iOS listing; English. | Mealime’s documented metric system is adapted for Canada and can retain cups and tablespoons. | Mealime historically documented Thrifty Foods. Its current shopping guidance makes online pickup/delivery store-dependent; it does not establish Canada-wide coverage. |
| United Kingdom | UK iOS listing; English. | The documented metric setting does not promise that every ingredient becomes grams or millilitres. | The UK app listing alone does not verify a UK supermarket integration. Use the list at your preferred shop, or confirm a named ordering service supports your postcode. |
The unit behaviour in the table comes from Mealime’s 29 July 2019 measurement guide. None of the regional store listings is evidence of a distinct local recipe catalogue or local product prices.
Where Meals Hub fits outside a delivery area
Mealime explicitly says you can browse recipes, build plans and generate shopping lists in Meals Hub without being able to shop at an Albertsons Companies store. Its website route goes through an Albertsons Companies store website. The notice does not provide a complete international account-eligibility list, so use the official route to check access from your region; the no-nearby-store statement is not a worldwide grocery-shipping promise. Meals Hub access and web FAQ.
Check the interface and the ingredient names.
The English language field in the US, Canadian and UK iOS listings does not establish German, French or Spanish app editions. A translated store page or search result can describe an English-language app. If you need another language, inspect both the interface and a complete recipe before relying on it.
When saving a translated recipe, retain the original ingredient names and measurements beside your translation. Similar-looking names can refer to different products or preparations. Preserve descriptions such as drained, dry, cooked, chopped or finely grated; the name alone may not tell you what amount belongs in the pan.
A translation should also keep the source serving count and cooking method. If you add a familiar local ingredient name, label it as your clarification rather than silently replacing the original description. This makes later corrections easier.
Match the ingredient to the product you can buy.
Mealime’s ingredient-details guide, updated 29 July 2019, describes opening an ingredient in Grocery List by tapping its text rather than its checkbox. The details can include size or quantity guidance, substitutes and the recipes using it. Consult that information before interpreting a line such as “one tin” against a local pack.
For each unfamiliar item, keep three separate facts: the ingredient needed, the cooking quantity and the retail pack you selected. For example, a recipe needing 300 g does not become a 400 g recipe because that is the pack sold in your shop. Note the remainder so it can be used elsewhere.
Canada: an old integration guide needs a current check
Mealime’s Thrifty Foods guide, updated 13 October 2020, documents Grocery List → menu → Grocery delivery & pickup → Thrifty Foods. It also says quantities were not automatically matched. Treat that as the documented historical flow and check the current handoff before expecting an order to be ready.
Thrifty Foods now distinguishes planning on thriftyfoods.com from ordering on shop.thriftyfoods.com. Its current FAQ says lists and saved content are managed separately and do not transfer between those platforms. Choose the ordering route first if you want delivery, and confirm store availability and quantities there. Current Thrifty Foods platform guidance.
Save measurements that will still make sense.
Mealime’s documented unit route is Settings → Eating Preferences → Metric / US. The change applies when a new meal plan is created. The same guide says its Canadian-oriented metric presentation may still use cups and tablespoons, so a cup remaining on screen does not by itself show a failed setting. Unit guide, updated 29 July 2019.
This sample worksheet shows how to save useful amounts without assuming that changing countries converts every ingredient.
| Source recipe line | Keep in the saved recipe | Local shopping note |
|---|---|---|
| 300 g chopped tomatoes | 300 g; original recipe serves two. | If your chosen tin contains 400 g, use 300 g and account for the 100 g remainder. |
| 1 cup dry rice | 1 cup dry rice, with the source’s cup definition if given. | Do not change this to a guessed gram weight. Use a reliable ingredient-specific conversion if needed. |
| 1 tin beans, drained | Keep the line and any net/drained weight stated in the ingredient details. | If no size is stated, mark it for checking. Your local tin’s total weight is not necessarily its drained weight. |
Keep the original units in the backup and add any checked conversion alongside them. Review numbers inside the cooking instructions as well as the ingredient list. Changing servings is a separate calculation from changing units; see the Mealime serving controls and pack-size guide.
Use the backup route that fits your device.
The free browser backup accepts supported public links, recipe text or saved files and offers readable TXT plus optional JSON. It does not require an app installation or place a grocery order. Keep source measurements and check the downloaded ingredients, yield and steps before cooking from the copy.
MealPot is our product. Its App Store listing supports iPhone and iPad on iOS/iPadOS 17 or later; open it in your own region to check availability. Individual link import requires Pro. The documented import flow is Recipes → + → Import Recipe → review → save to My Recipes. The website backup files are separate from that URL import.
After importing, review the source units and intended portions before using the shopping list. Select local products and confirm checkout prices in your chosen retailer’s service. Neither an imported recipe nor an app-store listing establishes grocery delivery to your address.
Frequently asked questions
Is Mealime listed in the UK and Canada?
Its official UK and Canadian iOS storefront pages were present on 12 September 2026. Both list English and iOS/iPadOS 15.6 or later. Confirm installation in your own account; this does not establish Android or grocery-delivery availability.
Does Mealime’s metric setting remove all cups?
No. Its July 2019 guide says metric is adapted for Canada and may retain cups and tablespoons. It also says the changed setting applies to a new plan.
Does a Mealime APK solve country availability?
An app package does not guarantee account access or continued service. Use official developer and store links to check availability.
Does MealPot promise grocery delivery in my country?
No delivery coverage is established by its app listing or recipe importer. Check the retailer and address availability in the ordering service you intend to use.
Can Meals Hub be useful without a nearby Albertsons store?
Mealime’s official notice says recipes, plans and lists can be used without shopping at an Albertsons Companies store. It does not provide a complete international account-eligibility list or promise international delivery.
